Why can’t I be “normal”?
Rather than analyze and dramatize
careful not to patronize
the simple ones
with simple minds

A lifelong contender
never ending fender bender
of dreaming splendor
repeat offender of pent surrender

only to wake to simpledom
feeling numb
“redrum” of the humdrum
refraining from rule of thumb
to the beat of a different drum

ignorance is bliss
yet I resist with prejudice
I insist to reminisce
The abyss that twists the subsisted kiss
twist my arm to cease and desist

I praise delays in today’s malaise
the maze of cliches
a dossier of the days dimays
rephrasing praise in my cerebral daze
setting ablaze this phrase
“I just want to be normal”
